Hello all,
I am a brand new chicken mama to 5--a Buff Orpington (Annabel Lee), Rhode Island Red (Oliver), Ameracauna (Primrose), Barred Plymouth Rock (Eloise), and Dominique (Titania). We are working to build a cozy little homestead on the edge of town. We have 2.5 acres of juniper scrub and cholla...are planning about 130 sf of garden, and there are other animals in our future (horses!!).
My 14 yo daughter will also post under this ID, which she set up herself (Primrose is her chick). I also have three other kids--a nearly 17 yo son, 10 yo daughter, and 6 yo son.
We're happy to be here learning all we can from all of you about chickens! Loving these little girls (yeah, we're pretty sure they're all pullets--even Oliver, who was named by my 6 yo!).
I also just posted a question in the diseases/injuries forum....Primrose is waddling funny.
Anywhoo, a big hello to all! Look forward to getting to know everyone.
