Hi
my name is Bonnie and I have decided to have backyard chickens since I just found out I can in town :)
I raised chickens as a kid so I do know alittle
I have a splash Cochin rooster and am now looking for hens for him .
I know the hens should have came first but he was given to us by a friend along with several other rooster for meat(they had to many) .
Below is a photo of Colonel Harlan T. Sanders although I was told he is a Cochin I do not know for sure which kind. His brothers all looked like splashes but he kind of different . he is all white with baby blue feathers , one of the reason he got saved from the table , The other is he's a very tame nice rooster . He now is our pet and even comes inside.
If any one has hen's for sale please let me know we want about 6 hens.

will try and get a better pic. to show his really cool blue feathers

Welcome to BYC!!!

no meat breeds. The women that raised him only raise chickens for pets. She could not even be around when my husband when to pick up the roosters. Her husband gave my husband the 5 roosters . I was told she had other fancy chickens and that Colonel was a Cochin. I just got the women's phone number hoping to find out more and to see if she would part with a few hens.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]I also have no experience with fancy chickens . The ones I raise as a kid where meat breeds and I did have some Easter eggers.
Colonel has made me realize how much I missed the farm life I grew with.
