Why do you say you are a little tenative about getting chickens?

I must say we were very surprised how much we enjoyed them. Instead of just saying welcome, I want to tell you the reasons we like having chickens!

1. The chicks were adorable!
2. We don't mind hanging out at the feed store.
3. We find the chickens terribly funny and a good source of entertainment.
4. We LOVE the eggs and so do our friends and family.
5. They need care daily but it isn't a terrible amount of work, it just takes minutes a day.
6. We love knowing where our food is coming from and we plan on raising our own meat with this flock next year as we chose dual-purpose breeds.
7. Collecting eggs is terribly fun. Easter egg hunt every day!
8. We are saving the droppings as excellent fertilizer for our spring garden.
9. We can use up household scraps, stale bread, and unappetizing leftovers and such (and turn it into eggs).
10. It makes us much more self sufficient.

Instead of just saying hello, shouldn't we help Huntsman decide to get chickens? C'mon BYC folk......let's explain our love of the bird!
