Howdy from Chester County PA...Just my two cents once a cat is more than 6mos old....its feral....it will let you feed it and will use a litter box...but it is feral...Good folk on this site. I'm sure you'll find all the info on chicks etc than you may ever need...
 
In the past I've been able to tame two males enough to pick them up and off they to the shots-n-neutering camp. Currently there's a little female who will let me pick her up and she loves to be petted. She went into heat and had three males following her. I'd go outside and she come over to me so I could shoo the males away. As for my chickens, hens are laying the rooster being randy and the p-hens are just noisy.
 
I'm a newbie from south jersey, have 6 white leghorn chicks about 2.5 weeks old. Where in south jersey are you? I'm in Winslow Township, Camden County
