Hi, yes, I too am a crazy chicken person. It all started when in 1999 a rooster appeared out of nowhere, and moved in with my horses. I just ignored him till it got cold and I realized that the water for the horses would freeze. From that point on, I fed and had water for him. After a few years, he hopped the fence, and made friends with my dogs. They would nap together in the sun on my deck. The rooster would be at the patio door in the morning looking for the dogs.
Well, we moved from LINY to Florida, and I had to leave him for the new homeowner because there would be no safe place to keep him while we built a house.
Last year I got another rooster. Then I made a mistake and gave him to the boy next door. I started to miss him.
So I just ordered some girl chicks, and I am really excited, and my husband is building a coop now even tho they won't be in it for 4-6 weeks. I can't wait, I think I will fit right in on this forum! Karen

Hi back! The weather is good here, I'm pretty used to the humidity, and just accept that if I work outside, I will be sweaty and dirty, then I jump in the jacuzzi and cool off.
Spring Hill is about 35 minutes north of Tampa, on the west coast, near Weeki Wachee, near Brooksville. I live in an area full of pidgeon crazies, their pigeon coops are as big as their houses, and most of them match their home. I have a horse, a mule, 2 dogs, 11 finches, and I am expecting 3 Jersey giants, and a buff offington in the mail. My husband is building a coop, and I am set up for my chicks. Karen
