Thanks for the welcomes! I did sign in on the map. I am in Seminole County- Sanford.

I went to a chicken farm today & met the owner some of his MANY birds. He was very nice & informative but I have no idea how to know he is a good breeder. If we were talking dogs & cats I'd be all over it but I know next to nothing about chickens.

I have narrowed my breed choices (I think) to Americauna &/or Easter Eggers (is that really a breed?). The chicken farmers friend has offered to build me a coop 8x4x4? for 6 birds...is that a good size? I will have a 120+ square foot run too.

I think I will try & attend the Ocala show...the breeder told me to be careful to avoid bringing home disease, even suggesting wearing booties over my shoes!

Can anybody tell me when & where the show is?
