Should I admit that I have been lurking here at BYC for about 3 years?
Well, I couldn't take it any more and had to join...
I am a batoraholic.
This fun started when my son asked for chickens for his 6th birthday. I grew up on a small farm in a rural area and my dh is a city boy to the bone. Needless to say, I was PUMPED! Well, shortly after the arrival of our lovely flock, we were given an incubator with 6 Coturnix quail eggs to hatch! From there, it was all downhill...
We have brought so many sweet little fluffy butts into this world and found them all delightful homes. (Even the few that ended up at "Freezer Camp" turned out ok)
We love, love, love our chickens and refer to them as our "girls"
There are not a lot of backyarders here where I live and so I come to you to get my fuzzy butt fix
We currently have 29 Coturnix on lockdown
another 42 chicken eggs to lockdown on Thursday
and then let the peeping begin
Looking to add buttons to the aviary next but no local buttons in our area
and it is too hot to ship them with great success
I look forward to meeting all of you and sharing some feathered laughs and tears
