(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
*My wife and I started our backyard chicken journey in April 2018 when we received our first chicks in the mail. Through the trials and tribulations of learning a new hobby, we've lost some chicks, bought more chicks, and now get the benefit of at least a 1/2 dozen eggs a day (in the heart of winter) and the fun watching our hens free range in our small little suburban farm.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
* 11
(3) What breeds do you have?
*Buckeye (2), Cream Legbar (1), Dominique (2), Easter Egger (3), Welsummer (1), and Light Brahma (2).
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
*Learning something new and watching the crazy antics of our hens.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
*Gardening, cooking, small orchard (9 apple trees for cider production), blackberries, raspberries, homebrewing, homemade sausage production.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
*2 dogs...one with 4 confirmed chicken kills
We also have 2 cats.

*Found this site researching coop builds and various chicken breeds. It is a wonderful resource.
