Hello,
I have just bought my first four chickens on Monday and loving it already! They are one year old and I got them from a free range farm. Got some feathers missing around the necks but I hope for these to grow back in. Even though it is winter here just now they are still popping out the eggs at about 2-3 a day which I am pleased with. Kids are even more pleased and they eat them for breakfast. Most of the eggs don't even make it to the fridge

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and that I will probably be asking a lot of questions (after searching of course!)

Welcome! There is nothing finer than everyone sitting down for breakfast with fresh eggs. It brings the family together to share in some of life's simple pleasures. Enjoy your chickens and all of the wonderful info on this site.

HI Haggis and Welcome,

You will be amazed at how much you will enjoy having your girls around. Don't be surprised if this leads on to bigger and better things, especially with a site like this to encourage you.

I started with chickens, and now I have a full veg garden, and now planning more creatures in my search for sustainable living...lol.

It really is an addiction to BYC. They are a great bunch of enablers here.
Welcome from the old South Wales.

Jena.
