Hi from Tennessee

Thank you

I did post one in emergencies which is what brought me here. I'm glad I found it! I have read books but I am more a person that likes to ask questions and also lose track of what I have read unless its a good olden times romance lol I really don't know what we have. It was not planned yet lol they are just a white chicken with the red comb. White medium eggs. I am looking thru the breeds. I was selling at first Monday over the summer and gave in to the son that was with me lol

They are likely White Leghorns, but if you would like the breed identified for certain, just post some pics of them on our What Breed for Gender is This? section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this, and let our experts there take a look at them. If they are White leghorns, you have some excellent layers. :o)

Oh ok thank you :) I will get a better picture of the bigger one tomorrow and do that. She startef laying a bit over a week ago and has everyday since! All that I read I figured it wouldn't be till it warmed up and the days got longer. Which I do have a light to put a little heat in there lol My oldest says they're fine but I worry

You're welcome. It doesn't get cold enough in Tennessee to need a light or supplementary heater in your coop. I've raised chickens where winter temperatures reached 30 F below zero, and with a well ventilated (to prevent moisture build up), dry, and draft free coop, they did just fine. Feathers are wonderful insulators, and moisture is a much greater enemy than cold.

Welcome, fellow Tennessean!! This is a great place to come for any and all things chicken related and then some! Michael OShay gave some great advice so I'll just say Hi and if you have any other questions, please just ask!! Hope you like it here!
