New here and just wanted to say hey yall! I don't really live in or near the swamps. But from what everyone sees on TV, they think we do! I got my first chickens in November 2013. I never realized how funny and neat they are! I have 10 hens and 1 small White Black Tail Jap roo that was originally Gracie and is now Elvis! I also have 2 buff orphingtons, 3 silkies, 1 comet, 1 Americana, 1 backyard chicken, and 1 golden laced polish, and 1 red sexlink. I got them for pets and the eggs are just a bonus. I have a variety because I pick what is pretty or have a funny mannerism not if they are a good egg layer. Silkies are my favorite! They follow me like my dogs do.
