Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We have raised chickens my whole life, but this will be my first flock.
How many chickens do you have right now?
I have ordered hatching egg for Ameracuna and EL Orpingtons.
What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I like being able get fresh eggs and fresh meat.
What are some of your other hobbies?
Sewing, Quilting, Costume making.
Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband and I are on our way to retirement and are creating a homestead. We had two small dogs, a maltese and a papillon, named Floki and Ziggy. I am an acupuncturist and my husband is a truck driver. We live out west in Tombstone Arizona.
Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC when I first started looking into chicken breeds for our homestead, and now that I am getting my own flock, I knew I needed to be a part of this awesome community.
