Hi All,
we have a little flock of free-ranged light sussex chooks and plan to expand so we're getting more eggs and enough birds for meat also. Looking forward to having a community of like-minded people to get some advice from!
Shalom, Racheal

Shalom and G'day Welcome to Backyard chickens. We have a large Aussie community here and they have a great thread called "Australia, six states and one funny little island." in case you get homesick.

Do you have many predators to be concerned about? When people free range they have to expect some loss from predators. If it gets to an unacceptible number you may want to build a secure covered run for them.

Shalom and G'day, and welcome to BYC, Racheal. Glad you decided to join our flock. Light Sussex are a great breed; hardy, calm and gentle, and good layers of large, brown eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your Sussex.
