Yes, high production breeds don't tend to live very long, often succumbing to reproductive problems. However, I wouldn't worry about them completely stopping laying. Hens usually gradually taper off in egg production, beginning at 2-3 years of age.

Of course, there are always exceptions. For example, I have four 4-year old hens from a hatchery. They're slowing down in egg production now due to the season, but up until fall, I was getting just as many eggs a day from them as I was when they were young pullets.
