Hello all! Wanting to quickly introduce myself...because I'm about to start posting about some issues we're having...yikes!
In January of this year we started with 7 pullets...6 hens and a rooster. They started laying in March and have been wonderful layers...beyond my expectations. It's been a pretty cool adventure for our family (hubby and I and our 5 children). Our 9 year old daughter is the chicken wrangler/whisperer...she's so natural with them (I admit to still being a bit hesitant). We have added 11 chicks who are now nicely feathered and are in a separate coop/run til they are a bit older and we can combine them.
I honestly cannot remember all my breeds...I'm really bad with this. I know I have buff orpingtons and barred rocks. After that, my eyes kinda gloss over (though I know a certain someone on these boards who can identify them for me
).
