Hey guys my name is cale. Me and my dad are getting in to some chickens and quiet frankly i wasn't really in to them. However i absoutly love history and when i started reading up on the Mottled Java chicken, i fell in love! Ha anyways i was really hoping maybe you guys could help point me in the direction of getting one of these chicks. I have some questions and ill post them here but i don't believe this is where i should post them!

Questions:
Why do online stores on sell chickens in egg format?
Can i buy a Mottled Java Chicken? Where?
What are secure and safe internet sites?
Can i find locale places in my community?
why are these birds now endangered if they were once so beloved?

Thanks guys! I am sorry if this is the wrong place! first time!

There are a few great internet sites, I think you will have to google your chicken breed.

As a historian, myself, you will find chicken breeds come in and out of style like fashions and come back again.

Some people incubate their eggs to get breeds they want.

Names of chicken breeds change as people mix this kind with that one. Breeding chickens can be a hobby or fun op to be a mad scientist and enjoying the results.

Post a picture of the breed under the breed section and ask.

BYC is full of great info and friendly people; I'm sure you'll love it!! I can't help you with Mottled Javas questions, but I agree that the search function will be your best friend

from Washington! I'm sure if you do searches here on BYC you will find a LOT on Mottled Javas. I recently recall seeing threads about them. I know there's a hatchery or two that has them, but there's not much promise to them being true to breed.
