Hi everyone,
My wife and I live just south of Seattle and have had chickens for about 18 months. We started out with 4 Rhode Island Reds and 2 Wyandottes. We lost 2 of the RI Reds hens to a local hawk and I think that was the first time I looked at the BYC website. One of the Wyandotte's turned out to be a rooster...so...this year we incubated a bunch of eggs which was amazing. We also purchased some different breeds at our local feed store - a White Leghorn, a Black Australorp and a Buff Orpington. Right now we have 3 roosters (which we are trying to find homes for or they will be meat in the freezer) and 11 hens.
BYC is the first place we go when we have questions. Super glad to be part of the community!
