Hi everyone,
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I grew up with a range of animals probably 10 years on a hobby farm with parents from about grade 5 we had chickens, ducks and geese as well as other animals. However as an Adult of late 40's this is the first time I have had chooks (australian for chickens) myself.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 10 hens and 1 rooster and 2 chicks one is 3 weeks and one 3 days today
(3) What breeds do you have?
1 black Araucana (EE)
1 polish frizzle
2 Buff Sussex
2 white silkies
2 white sussex one being a roo
1 Plymouth rock
1 pekin bantam
1 pekin x
1 silkie x sussex (3 week old)
1 Araucana x sussex (3 days old)
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
googling questions, have been here quite a bit but only just joined to share my silkie cross pics
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
card making, art journalling, playing computer games
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am divorced with 3 children now 24, 22 and 18, remarried to a fantastic guy with a stepson 13 who lives with his mother in another state. I have a Bichon Frise dog called Gracie and a Bengal cat called Mozart..... I am starting to become a crazy chook lady lol. I have had the chickens since February and love going out collecting the eggs, and checking on the chooks and just sitting watching their funny antics.
