Hi from West Central Georgia! We retired about 10 years ago and got our first hens. We need new ones now and are looking forward to some new ones.

We built a coop, but after some raccoons got in and killed most of our chickens, we learned how to secure it. Now, we let them out in the day and lock them in at night from all the predators. Now we have a lot of cats, so don't want baby chicks. The cats leave the bigger chickens alone, but don't trust them with baby chicks.

Looking to buy some pullets, locally, if possible, and willing to go pick them up and transport them home.
Be careful about who you choose to buy adult birds from.
There are a lot of nasty people who will sell sick birds just to make a dollar.

The last thing you want to do is bring diseased birds home and be stuck dealing with constant illness.
