Hello! I'm Stormslegacy from the not-Boston part of Massachusetts =) I live in the oft-forgotten hilltowns of the Berkshires.
My partner and I run what we call the "Hillside Homestead." We raise rare heritage rabbits for meat and have just started chickens for eggs and possibly meat in the future. I'd always wanted chickens and am really excited to finally get a chance to have a flock!
I'm not honestly sure what kind of chickens I have. We picked them out of a friends much larger flock as chicks--there were all sorts of heritage breeds in the mix and what we thought were five welsummers and one easter egger in the dark turned out to be 2 easter eggers, one or maybe two welsummers and two mystery pullets. I'll probably post for ID when I get the chance =)
Our chicken coop was a free one from a friend of my parents that we renovated, and their run is a converted dog-kennel. Eventually we would like to upgrade but in the meantime it shall do.
