Hi everyone! I joined your site to learn about hatching and raising chicks! I have owned pet Birds all my life, but have always wanted chickens. For now we rent, and space doesn’t allow for the larger birds, so I’ve chosen to raise quail instead!

I’ve done a bit of research on my own, but I’m sure I will have many more questions over the next few months! I’m incubating my own birds from eggs I’ve bought online and as of right now I’m on day 4 and can see red veins when I candle the smallest egg with my cell light!

I am so excited to have found a site with many knowledgeable people to share my experience with and gain more knowledge from! Right now I’m the weirdo wasting perfectly good eggs on the kitchen counter hehe

Thank you for the welcomes! I have a photo of my incubator on one of my most recent checks if anyone would like to see! I manually turn my eggs because I was sent more than I ordered and it was too many for the auto turner. I used The tray partitions to hold most of the eggs in place and wedged the other ones in the gaps left over.
