Hi! Happy to be here :)

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I am new to chickens, this year in fact! It seems to be the new thing to do :)

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I have 10 little babies. about 8 -12 days old.

(3) What breeds do you have?

I have 3 Smokey Opal pullets,
1 black star pullet,
1 color pack pullet,
2 cream legbar hybrid (hoping pullet)
1 ayam cemani (not sure hen or roo)
1 bantam (thinking roo, he has a little man syndrome going on),
and 1 lavender orpington (thinking roo)

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

Well right now they are " in my office chickens" but I am excited for the opportunity to watch them forage and grow up!

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

My family and I recently moved to a retired Christmas tree farm. It's a great place for our pups to play and for us to have tons of yard work to do! I am a network engineer, and my husband is retired Army. We also love traveling with our pups in our 5fth wheel. I have pretty much automated the coop for when we take trip and we have excellent neighbors that can help out too!

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

Well this is an easy one! I have a gazillion questions, and find I over research everything which brings me to this forum over and over for all of the answers and questions I ever need. I am grateful for this community and its knowledge.
Thanks for having me :)
What a nice intro! WELCOME! ❤️

Oh, and love your screen name! I do think of chickens as tiny raptors, and most certainly they have dinosaur feet.
