(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have had experience with chickens as a young girl but my daughters and I made raising chicks a Covid project that we fell in love with.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Currently have 14 girls

(3) What breeds do you have? Black astrolorp, Easter eggers, Isa browns, Rhode Island Red, silver laced Wyandotte, buff orphington, Plymouth Rock gem

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I love how each chicken has their own personality, watching them grown up and interact with their environment brings so much joy.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Crafting , 3D printing , painting , crocheting , reading, collecting dolls .

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a paraprofessional and love my job. I have a great husband and two wonderful daughters . We have our chickens and a few rabbits with plans to expand to a small hobby farm .
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I found BYC before I got chickens as part of my research before we got our chicks so we could better prepare for them . There is a lot of Greta information on here and I’m so grateful it’s here.

Until they actually have chickens, it's hard for most people to imagine how the range of personalities these little raptors have. One of my youngest Bantams is clearly a mama's girl and will rush out to follow me whenever she sees me (might be because I spoil her with special treats). Others treat me like a vending machine; they're happy when I give them something to eat, but interacting with me isn't high on their list of goals.

Congratulations on discovering the joy of chickens and welcome to BYC!
