Hi I’m Michelle

nice to meet you. I have zero experience with roosters . but if you have a question about ganders or drakes…. i may be helpful there. :welcome :welcome :welcome
Wait a minute I almost forgot I had one rooster 40 years ago who attacked me and my two year old daughter,, so he got the axe when my husband came home..

This may be an unpopular solution, or it may work for you, but I had a crazy leghorn rooster and he tried to get me and anyone else that was in the yard! He even chased me in the house! Like you I was spurred when I was a child so I get really nervous with roosters. But one day I was watering my garden and he came at me feet first! I freaked out and sprayed the crap out of him! From that point on he chilled a little bit. But I kept that hose in my hand for about a week or so just incase. He actually started eating from my hand! I bonded with him and named him popcorn. About a month later he got killed so I was sad. It may have been a temporary solution, but I will never know because he died. But give it a good spray with the water hose next time!

Hiya, Michelle, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Like @N F C said, one way to deal with overly aggressive cockerels is to cull them. You can try separate him to a pen or place all by himself for a few weeks to see if he settles down. The problem is, that can take months to only find out, he's just a mean rooster you don't want.

It's hard sometimes but it makes your life and hen's lives much more peaceful to just have a normal, nice rooster watching out for them, not attacking them or you.
He’s on his own that the weird thing, two other chicks died, went for my hand yesterday
