    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My husband and I moved on to the family farm in fall of 2018 (He is 5th and my kids are 6th generation on the farm). We had got chickens before we had finished unpacking practically. I had never owned farm animals before but my husband could wait to get birds!
    (2) How many chickens do you have right now?(3) What breeds do you have?
    3-black bantam chickens
    2-buff Orpington
    4-Easter Egger
    4-peafowl
    4-guniea hens
10- newly hatched from our own eggs Orpington/Easter Egger chicks.
    (4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I just love watching them, their feather color and patterns, their egg colors, the excitement of getting fresh eggs, seeing my kids adore them. I never expected to love them this much.

    (5) What are some of your other hobbies?
    Crafting all kinds.

    (6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 2 dogs, and some cows that are my FILs on the farm along with the fowl. I’m hoping to add goats to the list soon! I’m a SAHM for the last 8 years, have 3 kids between 3yrs-10yrs old. Before I stayed home to raise kids I was a hairdresser. My husband works in retail management.
The name MsFluffyButt comes from one chick from our hatch that seems chubbier then the rest and has the biggest fluffiest cute chick butt ever.
“I like big fluffy butts and I cannot lie...”

    (7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

Ever time I google chicken questions your community comes up and tonight at 12:30am I’m reading questions about how long to leave chicks in the baton and I decided it was time for me to be part of the discussion and be able to ask questions.

Yes they actually do quite well. The guniea hens free range but the rest are all in the same coop/run. We use an all flock feed and offer choice oyster an grit.
