You could try the aspirin for a couple of days, as long as she is not bleeding. But having an exposed bone is a very serious issue. Let us know how she gets along, and I hope that you find more survivors.

For the injured hen, half a baby aspirin should help, but be careful, as aspirin can thin the blood. @Eggcessive , do you think she can do this? I don’t want the hen to be in pain, but this is more your speed.

I think this is a good idea. I have baby aspirin for my dogs. So half a tab should work great .

I can say when ginger’s Buddy showed up tonite she was comforted. They are both injured but I’m so happy to have them back. I just wish I did not lose my hen “Jazz”. Maybe she will show up tomorrow. I did not see blood just lots of feathers in two places. I assume the hawk took her.

But has anyone heard of hawks and fox working together for a kill?

I have seen 2 hawks working together when they forced my polish hen into a chainlink fence, and the second bird took her head off. We recently lost 3 hens in broad daylight to a bobcat. We saw it come to retrieve the last of the 3 bodies. I hope your hen shows up.
