Check out "people with house chickens." It's a big thing. Seramas also make good candidates - they were developed to be house pets.

Just one thing to warn about chickens, not just silkies will pick at anything they attracts their attention ie, your mole. That could cause it to be infected.

I own a beautiful white silkie chicken, she is my first. I received her for Mother’s Day. She loves to be held and she will cuddle with me. My grandsons are very good with her and help with her every day. I’m lucky that I can at least say I get to cuddle with a chicken. She also likes to lightly peck on my mole on my neck too.
