Welcome to BYC. D'Avers bantams, especially birds that were just bought at Christmas, will have small, flat combs. The combs are definitely there, but are different than single combs, like Pekin bantams have. So it is nothing to worry about. I wish you the best with your new flock, and hope BYC will be helpful with them.
