Hi there I’m from the uk
I have 13 chickens and 3 roosters mixed bred I also have 6 bantams as well as 9 5weeks old polish bantams and 7 chicks from my chickens that are 1 week old

Yes I kind of joined because of this how many cockerels do you suggest with my 13 hens
You are going to get a lot of answers, but I would say 2 for fertility. If you aren't selling hatching eggs or hatching chicks... you could just have 1.

I have 1 rooster for 16 hens. I don’t keep a rooster for fertilizing the eggs (if I did, I would have another rooster). I only keep him for his protection of the flock and his crowing (I love that sound!)

Thanks for this I was going to get rid of one because it attacks me sometimes I do hatch chicks so Thankyou for this info
