Good morning! Thought I would quit being a stranger and give this a go!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I was about 7 or 8 when I first tried raising chicks that were rejected from my cousins flock. I tried a couple times but they usually died and when I was 12, one (Rhode Island Red) survived. She was my pride & joy!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
3 Chicks (1 died last night)
(3) What breeds do you have?
2 Lavender orpingtons and 1 Barres rock
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They're cute, fun to watch, and smarter than what people think.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Painting,..
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share?
I am a stay-at-home mom with 2 kids, 1 bonus child, 1 niece, 2 huskies, and the new (3) chicks all under one roof - life is never boring!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have been a member since 2014. I've been casually reading and day dreaming since but we finally had the time and space, so I decided to try again.
