Hi I am looking to start my chicken flock here in lovely Kentucky!

What are some or your favorite kinds?

There are so many beautiful kinds but I better stick with 3 or 4. I like to get the ones from Paul Smith that lay blue eggs and some Marans for dark eggs and I like the Blue Laced Reds... Shall I continue? LOL

You literally just named three of the birds I have! Going for that colorful egg basket too I see!

Yes I love all the colors of eggs!! What else do you have?

Marans for the dark eggs! Ameraucana for the blue eggs! Have to have an olive egger so you get some really nice looking green eggs. Wyandottes just because they’re beautiful and sweet, Orpington (any color) , because a mixed flock has to have one...

I have four Silkies just because they’re cute. Not really counting on big egg production from them. Two Polish, also because their quirky and just so lovable, they will lay white eggs. One blue birchen Marans, one splash ameraucana, one blue laced red Wyandotte, one silver laced Orpington, one white chicken I hatched from a fertilized grocery store Egg (pretty sure she’s Rhode Island red and white rock) and one marans/ameraucana cross (olive egger).
I would have more but we don’t have room!
