Hi my name is Kathy and I am very new to raising chickens. We just bought a small ranch in Northern Arizona. It has been my husband's dream to own a organic farm. Due to his heart , we have been eating organic as much as possible for the last 5 years. Well the expense can get to you. So the farm. I just bought 12 Rode Island reds and four meat birds. They are in a tub in the house right now while we build the coup.
Being in the desert is different than most people. It has problems different than than grass areas. I am hoping to met up with more people who don't have grass around them to help me with making sure these birds are getting all they need. I am enjoying reading and learning from this site.
