I feed the hens a layer pellett from ACE and a scratch mix. They always have the pelletts and get about 1 cup of the scratch, They also get some bread most day. Is there something else I can do to get more eggs or they just off because of the heat. I live in Fla.

Egg laying starts to decline at three years old depending on the breed. Oyster shells will give an additional source of calcium which laying hens need. If the other four hens are over 3 years old consider getting some young pullets.

Lay off the extras, and only offer the feed. During hot weather, they eat less. With that reduced intake of feed, they may not be getting enough protein to produce eggs. You can try switching to starter/grower, which has a higher protein content to offset any extra goodies.

How old are they? Maybe they are molting. I would make sure that they are getting enough layer feed, a lot of treats (for example, too much scratch and and bread as you said you give them might throw their laying off).

Treats are all right for chickens, as long as they are given in moderation

Along with decline in production, Older hens molt more and this is when hens start molting.
