I live in Co and have 23 chickens. It seems like they multiply on you. I have one rooster I took from a lady who could not have him in the city, I named him Captain Crook because he has a broken toe. I had one chicken that was brooding, and before I got Captain Crook I went to a farm and got some fertilized eggs. Three hatched, one chick did not make it. I got a hen and a new rooster. Then I bought five Ayam Cemani's, (one is a rooster). The rest are all hens.
I recently retired and have never had chickens that greet you at the door, or sneak into your garden and then sit by the gate for you to let them out. My to oldest easter egger chickens. My son raises meal worms so they are well fed, and a lot of fun and I am glad that I found this site.
