Hello Jill, it's nice to have you here with us! Best of luck with all your plans.
I do too LOL. I am hoping to have trios of certain breeds on down the road...more roosters, haha. I had white silkies one time. The male was sweet. I cuddled with the female. She was super sweet.Good morning, Jill, welcome to BYC.
I hope that you get a sweetheart of a rooster, not an ornery one.
Enjoy.
Thank you so much!Hi, & welcome to BYC!![]()
Thank you for the welcomeI enjoyed your lively intro. It sounds like you have some ambitious goals!
My chickens (ducks and geese) are all just pets, too. Same with my sheep and miniature goats. When I go to the feed store and load up with bags of all kinds of feed, the cashiers have finally learned not to ask if get the farm-tax exemption; mine only cost me money -- they never make or save me any.
I live on an acreage and keep all the poultry cooped at night; I am retired and let them loose into a fenced yard during the day. I chose not to clip wings because I have owls, eagles, and a multitude of furry predators, and I want my poultry to be able to fly away if they need to. Your situation may be completely different.
Let us know when you get your birds, and good luck with more hobbies. Welcome to BYC!
