I first started raising chickens at 9, I fell in love with them after finding out they were descendants of dinosaurs! It took four years until they finally let me get four of the best friends you could ask for!
I currently have 145 chickens, and have a little egg business. I sell to our local grocer!
I have ISA Brown, Barred Rock, Black Australorps, Prairie Bluebell Eggers, California Whites, and 2 Rhode Island reds. (The Rhode Island reds I got from a neighbor who couldn’t take care of them anymore)
I love that they explore the yard and have so much personality.
I do a lot of running, I’m in cross country and track so I have to keep fit year round. I also love to read
I have four younger siblings that are absolute heathens(I still love them though) and I have around 12 cats, they like to wander from farm to farm I also have a dog(he’s afraid of anything that moves lol)
I found BYC a couple years ago when I was first trying to start raising a large amount of chickens and I came on here to see what other people thought of the different breeds! I fell in love with the chickens and the community and I finally decided that just HAD to join in!
