I am afraid to pluck her feathers because I'm afraid it will hurt, she's about 2 months old and she has this bigger chick who looks a lot like a rooster as a hatchmate (I'm pretty sure) so I wondered if I put the video of them together, maybe you can tell? The chick has a backwards and upside foot so I keep it inside so I can care for it and it is cute. I was curious to know if eggs will hurt her if it is a female. I am going to post it, I hope that is okay. I was showing her splayed leg but it also has them both together. The size difference is big but with her splayed leg, maybe she is bigger than she looks. I'm not sure how to insert a video or even if I can but I am looking around to see! I inserted a link to where I have it posted, I hope that is okay

The question about eggs is best posted in the medical emergencies forum for good answers. Silkies take a long time to tell gender. The main thing to look at is not size, especially with a disabled bird, but comb size. Females of that age should have small, flat combs. Males may show some height in the combs at that age.

I have a farm vet who looked at her and we live on a farm and she thought the chick won't have a life but I'm a softie and I bought this chick a therapy chair from Australia and made ai find the best bedding and largest thing I could put inside for her/him and the other one to live and now it's my pet. The leg is twisted and always was so I hobbled it together so her leg wouldn't drag her. I am just going to do my best to give the chick the best life I can give her but she isn't in any pain and she eats and drinks and this chair will let her feet get a chance to touch the ground, I was hoping that would help her toes. I started vitamins and sunshine and I hope all of this helps. I live on a mini farm but I am not a farmer, I am looking at the chick like my baby pet. *hangs head in farmer shame* :p

Nothing to be ashamed of. You're going the extra mile to make sure it is well cared for and happy, and that's all anyone can ask.
