Hi everyone! I just joined yesterday and I am already feeling at home here. Thank you for having me. I would like to introduce myself a little. I live on a little rural farm in Alabama on two acres. We have 11 chickens right now along with 2 dogs and 3 cats and we hope to add some goats soon.

I have a beautiful sweet California tan Rooster named Kelly. He was supposed to be a pullet when we bought him but you see how that goes sometime 😂 He always calls his ladies over and let's them eat first and takes such good care of them. He doesn't mind our dog but can not stand our cat (even though our cat is a big ole softie and loves the chickens but he can't ever play with them.) Our Cat Panda helps watch the coop in the daytime but at night he goes inside our barn bc we have bobcats and coyotes in the area.
We also have a black Asian chicken names Lucy Lou, a Golden Comet named Goldie, two black Australorps named Zatanna and Ashley. We have three rhode island reds names Wilma, Betty, and Lucille. We have an olive egger named Ethel who is a cream legbar/welsummer mix and just our luck she doesn't lay olive eggs but brown eggs. We were told I guess her brown egg gene was more dominant lol. Oh well we hope to add a colored layer to the flock one day. And then yesterday we bought two 6/7 month old barnyard mix pullets named Yor and Komi who I have quarantining for a month in a separate coop away from my others. But so far they look good, sound good and their poops are solid and healthy looking so I'm thankful for that. I love them all and they are very spoiled here.

Once again thanks for having me here on the website. I already enjoy looking and browsing through everyone else's post. Love having a place it feels like one big happy chicken people family! 😊❤️
