I'm lurking for quite a long time now, and usually I don't ever post anything myself on any social media... But I have so many unaswered questions and thought I might give it a try this time.

I'm 25 years old, from Germany and I'm relatively new to chickens (1,5 years now), but I already own around 30 chickens and 4 turkeys that I absolutely love to the point of being afraid anything might happen to them, which it did several times already and it breaks me every time, but I'm still going on! Most of mine are different crested chickens or crosses. My favourites so far are the pavlovskies though and I already started breeding in some others to maybe get my dream bird someday (although it's more about the fun of the process for me!). I also have a little color project ongoing, trying to get an isabel white spangled pattern on a big dual purpose breed.

I have engulfed Sigrid van Dort's book about chicken colors and many more sources because I love everything about genetics in general and I can read in it for hours. And of course it's super helpful for breeding, which I love too lol.


I hope here I can find some people who think alike!
