Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. If you put your Shamo on a leash, be sure and use a harness. Do not just put the leash around it's neck. You can feed him cooked rice, but do not feed him uncooked rice as it will swell in him when he drinks water. Also, I would limit the amount of cooked rice you give him. Treats, like starchy foods, should make up less than 10 % of a chicken's diet or they will become fat and unhealthy. It's like us eating potato chips and candy bars.
