That's a pretty garden nook to enjoy (and I'm not talking just for the chickens)!

Yes I feared it would be too small for them but for just three, it's good. We have a lot of foxes in London and they are quite big and bold, so we put a metal grille gate over the front of our side return to make the coop and it is fully protective.

Hiya, and welcome to BYC!

Yep, chickens "rest" in the winter months so most will slow down or stop. It's said, and stands to reason, that they'll lay and live longer versus those that regulate light to try keep them laying. We let ours rest too. They still lay, just half as much.
