Hi I'm a newbie from Milton, Ontario

I was wondering if you had info on the bylaws in Milton Ontario. Are we allowed to have backyard chickens in Milton? One of the Farm and Feed vendors in our town told us yes, but I couldn't find anything about it online. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi fellow Miltonian! Here's what the town told me years ago. A) it depends on your zoning (we are rural/residential). B) if anyone asks, they are 'pets'. No mention must be made of egg sales, etc. Your Chiquitas must not appearing to generate profit of any kind. Try to keep it to a reasonable 'pet' amount and you will be fine....i.e. don't get caught with 60 broilers or a sign at the end of your driveway saying "eggs for sale!". You must be semi rural from your pic. You ought to be fine as long as the neighbors aren't bothered by it. Now if you're at Derry and Thompson I can't say for sure...haha
