Would ice blocks be too cold?

I love that second pic! I started putting frozen water bottles out there, but wouldn't you know, They had already discovered their own way to stay cool and have disdained the use of my ice! They dig a little hole in the damp dirt and just kind of spread out over it like they are melting

Those are great pictures! I don't think we'll have anymore HOT days in MN this year, but I'll have to try the ice blocks myself next year. I always thought it was pretty funny watching mine peck at ice cubes....an ice block will be an entire summer of entertainment
