Hi Erin glad you joined the flock. Sounds like you'll be hearing the patter of little chicken & webbed feet soon. Sending you good hatching vibes

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've raised them for years and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children, and now my granddaughter, made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your hatch.

Thankyou everyone. Yes we're excited about our newbies arrivals, my australorp eggs where given to me a week and a half after lay, so I'm not expecting a full hatch.
Our australorp hen is hilarious. She adores my husband and climbs into or onto his ute as soon as she has the chance. They're great pets. I have 3 kids, 5,3 and 11 months, who she follows and sits with them. Our pekins not so much. They do there own thing. Friendly but not overly social.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Australorps are one of my favorite breeds! My girls are so friendly, docile, very smart and so affectionate. Huge on the lap sitting and I can't sit anywhere without a Aussie wanting on my lap!!

Enjoy this fun journey you are on and welcome to our flock!
