Hello and welcome! I'm in Murfreesboro as well. Howdy, neighbor!
We have possum problem out around me as well. A big ol' fat possum scared the willies out of me when I came around the corner of the coop and almost ran into him. UGGGG! Thankfully he was just munching on the kitty food and not on the chickens. I have since quit leaving cat food outside.
Do you have an fenced run for your coop? That might help. I probably overbuilt my coop, but we also have coyotes so I was worried about it.
If you are needing chicks or chickens, drop me a PM. Somebody always seems to be broody around here.
Tractor Supply also has chicks right now if you are wanting to deal with babies.
