Hi guys. I am a first time free range chicken owner. I purchased 1 black Orpington girl, a white (ish) polish girl ( I think) and 2 silkie/Polish mixes. They were 6-8 wks old when I got them which makes them currently about 12-14 weeks of age, the black Orpington (Matilda) being the oldest and biggest lol.

Can anyone help me sexing my chicks? I have had people agree that I have 3 hens and 1 roo but ya just never know. The white polish girl keeps surprising me, I can't seem to get her off my lap! Or the top of the coop at night!

Also, check out my post in Emergencies/Diseases/Injuries/Cures. Something's up with my poor Matilda's voice and it seems to have affected some others now too :( I have no idea what it could be and I'm just about at my wit's end trying to figure it out. I just looooove my girls, I would hate to lose any of them.)

Love, Marisa (and Matilda, Chili, Cholo, & Daisy)

The Orpington is a pullet. The 2 mixes are cockerels. The white is tough to tell. Leaning towards cockerel but a better picture of the comb and head poof would help.
The two mixes are the same age and ones comb looks completely different than the one who I’m sure is a cockerel. I will take better pics and post. Thank you

I just realized in all the pics I posted I only posted pics of the mixed cockerels face. The other doesn’t have any wattles at all, and the comb is tall and spiky. The roo’s comb looks more like a strawberry or a walnut comb and it’s deep red mulberry in color
