Hi! I'm new, and I already love this community!

I'm brand new to chickens, I just started a few months ago. My husband and I built our own coop and just started winging it! ;)

I have 7 chickens right now, we have 3 Rhode Island Reds, 1 Wyandotte, and 3 Dark Brahmas. By the end of the month, I'll have 2 Red Stars, 2 Blue Stars, 2 Easter Eggers, and 2 Delawares as well! Can't wait.

I love having these chickens because of their personality, ease to keep, and that they are a resource for food! It's so nice to check on them in the morning and find an egg or two

I'm an artist, I love to draw, paint, take pictures, animate, etc and that's what I like to spend my time doing. I also LOVE to cook.

For now, it's just me and my husband, our dog and cat, and our little backyard flock. We are happy here in central Florida and are very keen to set up a homestead of our own little by little.

I stumbled across this community when I first got our chicks, we had no clue what to do to keep them happy and alive so I was practically sleeping by them every night, watched all the YT tutorials, and read up as much as I could, that's what lead me here! Ever since I found it I've been telling everyone to get chickens and come here to learn how to raise them! I realized that I absolutely had to create my own account since I was here so often. I love that we are all here to help each other, it's been a blessing!
Nice to meet you! I'm a newbie, too - we only recently got our first flock (June). It's addicting. lol Our pup (Honey B/Honey Badger) really doesn't know what to make of the birds still... She doesn't understand why she needs siblings if she doesn't get to play with them.
Look forward to interacting! From our flock to yours - B'kawk! ;)
