Hi all thanks for the warm welcomes
Im actually in Canberra which is Australia's capital city.
I live not far from Bantymum in fact my silkies came from her!
Thanks for telling me about this site Helen.
I pick up my other silky boys today and my homeless hen, hope all goes well.
I look forward to talking to you all soon and i WILL get some pics when i can get some spare time...5 kids hahaha no spare time!
Hi all well what a busy few days!
I picked up my Rspca chickens and bought them home and they are very bossy!
My poor Silkies were being picked on by all three and 1 of them is a hen so i seperated them.
I have a lady interested in the 2 rspca roos so my poor boy can live in peace.
Shes on acres out of town so the bossy roo and his thug mate will be happy
I also picked up 10 more newhampshire leghorns from a barn and they are in pretty bad nick :aww
Feathers missing poor pecked little things and their feet are terrible so i spent time cleaning feet and feathers to remove poo and trim nails and now they are having a ball scratching around the yard with my others, i even got eggs so i figure they are happy.
Im picking up some Light-liners from the same place in a few weeks and Australops in about a month.
Im aslo hooking up friends who are madly building hen houses to take some of these girls who are being sold as the place is going outta business so is selling off over a 1000 hens
They ahve to go now or face the doggers in a few months i guess. poor girls.
Helen Freddy still isnt crowing but seeing the other roos dislike him so much and they seem to accept Georgie i think we are safe to say he is a roo.
he has a home for life here! so cute.
Im also chasing a couple of silky hens for him as he and georgie are getting their very own pen so i figure he needs more girls in his harem
