Hi my name is Beth (Artsy lady). I live with my husband of 19 years and our two children in rural Missouri. My mom is the farmers daughter and she loved sharing her love of the country with me growing up. Grandpa was a hog farmer and he and Granny also had horses, game birds and Grandpa kept Brittany spaniels for hunting. Currently,
I am an art teacher at our local Catholic grade school. In addition to painting and drawing, I love to garden and enjoy the outdoors any way I can with our family.
We currently have 5 chickens 2 of whom my children hatched themselves 7 years ago. The older girls don't lay very often anymore but they are part of the family. I believe they are Brahman Cuckoo Maran cross. We also have 2 gold laced Polish ladies and one blue Cochin.
Our son (13) recently added 3 ducklings to our flock, 2 Cayuga and 1 Rouen.
Our daughter (10) has 2 bunnies she shows at the local fairs, a Holland lop and a Holland lop Lionhead cross. Rounding out our funny farm are 2 dogs, a Boxer and a Frenchton and a Map Turtle.
I reference your community often and look forward to being able to post questions and share in your collective knowledge.
