Hi, I'm new to BYC and I was wondering if anybody has any advise on FFA chickens. I am thinking about doing Red Pyle Old English Game Bantams.

I was also wanting to know, would it be better to hatch out the Bantams or just buy them as adults or buy them as chicks or if you guys have any suggestions for a better bantam breed to show, besides silkies. I don't hate them I just don't really want to show silkies.

The photo is not mine but that's the bantam I am talking about.
Hi! Welcome to BYC! I do 4H but have lots of experience with bantam breeds. I like getting pullets and a cockrel then breeding them for the next year. If you don’t want to do this do some chicks. I personally and a huge fan of Wyandotte bantams and I also enjoy polish. I am a silkie fan as well and have always had them LOL. Also have you shown before? And do you know about approved APA breeds?

Howdy, :frow and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.

Happy :ya to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!

@sourland has given some great advice. Red Pyles were readily available in the 60's and 70's, fairly popular at poultry shows. Wish you good luck in finding a breeder.

Thanks for joining our community! :celebrate

No I have not done show before but I am wanting to get started. I'm looking for something for middle school.
